Ciro Scardina is a capeless superhero out to fight for social justice and to shine the light of learning into the darkest recesses. He speaks for literacy, both digital and analog. He believes that knowledge is power and is a strong advocate for public schools. Ciro is currently a library media specialist in Staten Island, NY. He is a SLJ Mover and Shaker was a 2014 recipient of the I Love my Librarian Award. He is a Fellow at the Academy for Teachers and an Adjunct Faculty Member in the School of Education at the College of Staten Island. When he is not teaching or writing, Ciro is probably exploring the comedic elements of SnapChat videos, narrating literary voice-overs or creating creating Golden Girls memes. All in a day's work for a super hero.
