Take 1

This makes me excited.  A new place to stretch my writing-legs and write without thinking too much.  A lot of my writing is hampered because of thought.  I think thought is necessary but overthinking is something else altogether and I am guilty of this to the Nth degree.  So I am going to stop that with this blog.  I am not going to constantly edit and filter my words for anyone's eyes except my own.

I will quote Ms. Erykah Badu.  "Keep in mind that I'm an artist and I'm sensitive about my shit!" This is a laboratory for me and I am letting people in to see my process.  I envision a lot of the stories I will write being born here on this blog so let me apologize in advance for them not being as fully developed as they could be.  Development is what I am working on here.  I am trying to break some bad writing habits and writing more from the heart is what I am after.

So, what will you find in this blog?  You will find my thoughts, my ideas, and my words.  The words of a school librarian that is head-over-heels for his students and the field of school librarianship.  I can provide you with some tags that typify my feelings as of this moment for the themes of the posts on this blog, in no particular order:

  • education
  • reading
  • equality
  • literacy
  • school libraries
  • popular culture

Because I am taking full license, I am going to close right here.  I wanted to give you an idea of what you might find here and I think I've done that.  (BTW-I will probably be writing with contractions here.)  Before I go, I want to welcome you reader, to my blog.  I look forward to sharing my world with you.
